At E-Speech we are dedicated to providing speech software of the highest quality and accuracy. Our team members are internationally recognized experts in speech technology, with more than 40 years combined experience in speech synthesis, recognition, and verification. We have linguistic expertise in a variety of European and Asian languages, as well as English. We offer software products and consulting services. E-Speech can offer you customization beyond anything you would find elsewhere. While other companies sell an off-the-shelf product, we will tailor our software to fit your needs.

E-Speech Corporation was founded in 1997 by a team of management and technical professionals. Formerly at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore, now Telcordia Technologies), the founding team has extensive background in the speech technologies: speech synthesis, recognition and verification, natural language processing, and applications, as well as in customer care and call center software and systems and computer-telephone integration (CTI).  E-Speech is dedicated to providing text-to-speech synthesis of the highest quality and accuracy as well as other innovative speech technology.

Dan Kahn, Ph.D. (MIT), Co-founder. For the ten years prior to the founding of E-Speech Corporation, Dr. Kahn was Director of Bellcore's Speech Technology Research Group. Dan has extensive experience in speech synthesis, speech recognition, and digital and analog signal processing, as well as in systems integration for telephony applications of speech technology.  Dan also worked on speech recognition and synthesis at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ.  Dan is an active member of the IEEE, and served as Chairman of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Speech Technical Committee and as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing. Dr. Kahn is a recipient of the IEEE Third Millennium Medal for his contributions to signal processing.

Marian Macchi, Ph.D. (NYU), Co-founder. Before co-founding E-Speech, Dr. Macchi was at Bellcore, where she was the chief architect of the Orator® speech synthesizer. she has extensive speech synthesis experience, both with basic synthesis technology and with text preprocessing for applications such as the Reverse Directory Service that has been introduced by several regional Bell operating companies. She has been an invited speaker at the National Science Foundation, IEEE, Acoustical Society of America, and Association for Computational Linguistics, and has served on NSF review panels and on many technical advisory committees. Marian also worked on phonetics and speech synthesis at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ. Visit her 1998 NSF talks on the state-of-the-art in speech synthesis technology and on evaluation of speech synthesizers Dr. Macchi is a member of the Advisory Board for Montclair State University Linguistics Department.

The E-Speech co-founders won the Bellcore Presidential Award for their research and development of the Orator text-to-speech synthesizer and for its commercialization.
